Garden Carpentry December update

The weather is still holding out here in Sunny West Wales and were still catching up on a a busy season.

Here's a couple of our latest caravan decks, including one with a wheel chair ramp and one with glass panels...

Wheel chair access

This 2.4 x 9 meter deck is located at Warren park holiday site near Machynlleth, Its sits on a 'past it best' patio on galvanised steel shoes to ensure none of the main supports are in contact with the ground.

This deck has railing higher than our standards decks to ensure the owners large dog was secure on the deck! At 1.1 meters high they are in line with higher level railing heights and still finished ot our usual high standard.

Plenty of space for outdoor entertaining or letting the dogs roam...

Glass railings

Our client wanted traditional wooden railings but with a twist. It was important for them to retain their forward facing view out of their glass fronted holiday home. We integrated these glass panels with our own railing system to produce a high finish and maintain high strength to withstand the strong coastal winds this site receives.

Strengthened glass panels sit between plained 100x100 mm posts

Press fit fixings ensure a sturdy clasp without the need to drill the glass

All our timber is plained, regularised and treated to ensure a high quality and long lasting finish

Thanks for taking a look. We're busy wrapping up a couple more jobs before Christmas and will be taking a couple of weeks off over Christmas, but drop us a line to get a free quote on decking or fencing jobs in the new year. We work all year round, and the best time to work on your garden is autumn ad winter so that you can sit back and enjoy your new outdoor living space over the summer and spring!

Timber Decking in west Wales

November already!

How did it get to be November so quickly! Its been an awesome and long Welsh summer. Just last week, we were still working in T shirts and enjoying warm southerly winds. Ok - I'll admit as I write this its pouring it down and we've had flashes of lightning, but we cant really cant complain!

Its been an especially busy year for deck building and other outdoor carpentry, so without any delay here's a some pictures of recent jobs...

Another high level access timber decking but this time on a caravan. Log and gravel steps provided access form the car parking, and the high level decking provided a 12x8 foot decking to utilise an otherwise useless slippery slope. I'll be adding a trellice to the legs in time to grow creeping plants up the base in time for spring.

Main man Martyn models a newly built stair case to allow safer access than the original steps had been doing. Extending the staircase made the steps smaller and easier and adding a dog leg added safety to the design.

Garden Carpentry is now booked up for the remainder of 2014 and taking quotes for decking jobs for the 2015 season. As well as the Mid West Wales area we are happy to quote jobs in the border and midlands areas and other parts of Wales. If you've got a job you'd like us to look at please get in touch.

More photos, including some new style glass railings, outdoor living areas and garden conversion projects very soon...

Summer 2014 catch up

Ive blatantly neglected my Blog here this year, due to multiple work commitments and being very busy building decks. The great summer we've had has encouraged more and more people to spend time outdoors, and were still very busy adding outdoor living space to peoples gardens and static caravans.

Anyway, heres a few photos of our latest jobs, hope you like them...

This tricky job, involved turning a high level unused patio space into a useable and easier to access Decking area. We'd say it was a success!

...and of course caravan decks, some times in need of high rise approach
